Based on the equation Energy (Wh) = Voltage (V) × Capacity (Ah), with capacity held constant at 4000 mAh, the higher voltage alone delivers a 5.9% increase in energy versus a conventional 4.2 V cell. Most mainstream 4.45 V cells use modified lithium cobalt oxide (LCO) as the cathode material. At the higher operating voltage, more Li⁺ can be extracted, increasing capacity and thereby improving energy density. Upgrades in materials and manufacturing processes further enhance this gain.
