When choosing a lithium polymer battery, capacity is not the only factor to consider. Buyers should also confirm the right voltage, dimensions, discharge current, connector, and protection circuit.

For voltage, a standard single LiPo cell usually has a nominal voltage of 3.7V. If a higher voltage is required, multiple cells can be connected in series. For example, a 2-cell series pack is typically 7.4V.

Size is also a critical factor. Portable devices usually have very limited internal space, so a custom-sized battery is often preferred to make the best use of the available space.

The working current requirement should also be confirmed. Standard LiPo cells are generally suitable for low- to medium-current devices. For high-current applications such as power tools, high-rate LiPo cells are usually required, and the matching protection board, wires, and connectors may also be different.

Before requesting a quote, please prepare: voltage, capacity, battery size, working current, connector type, wire length, PCM requirement, application, and certification needs.

Model numbers are typically based on battery dimensions, helping buyers quickly understand the size and select a suitable model.

For example, model 503450 can usually be understood as:

5.0mm thickness × 34mm width × 50mm length

However, naming rules may vary from supplier to supplier, so the final dimensions should always be confirmed according to the official specification sheet.

In addition to checking the battery size, buyers should also pay attention to the tab position, wire outlet direction, PCM placement, and connector type.

Key point: model numbers are useful for quick reference, but final selection should always be based on the confirmed drawing and actual device structure.

If the available internal space allows, and the voltage, capacity, dimensions, and discharge current all match the device requirements, a standard LiPo cell is a great option. It can simplify the selection process and help speed up sample preparation.

However, if your product has a compact internal structure and requires high space utilization, or if you have special requirements for capacity, wire length, connector type, discharge current, PCM, or certifications, a custom LiPo battery would be the better choice.
